The Relationship Between Amount of Egg Lipit, Egg Size and Hatchery Performance in Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Brook Trout
Abstract :
In this study, the relationship between egg lipit amount, egg size and hatcheryperformance investigated in Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), Brown trout (Salmo trutta fario) and Brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) that produced thesame culture conditions and fed the same feed. Egg diameters were measured at 5.04±0.15, 4.74±0.37 and 4.35±0.75 mm for these trout species, respectively. The amount of lipit in eggs and hatchery performance of tree species was calculatedat 12.44±0.23% and 94.43±0.76% in rainbow trout; 11.33±0.46% and 88.21±0.72% in brown trout; 10.83±0.31%. and 80.87±0.53% in brook trout. Therefore, we supposed that amount of egg lipit may be a good predictor of hatchery performance.
