Cost and Profitability Analysis of Trout Farming ın Tortum-Uzundere District

Trout producing costs of trout farms located in Tortum and Uzundere towns were calculated. Data used in this study are collected from 11 trout farms through survey. Budget method for one product is used in the analysis. The distribution of costs was also calculated according to the different types of costs and these costs were compared to the market prices in order to find the profit magrin of the farms. The cost of 1 kg fish averaged to 226.860 TL, 57 and 43 percent of which are variable and fixed costs respectively. It is calculated that 0,54 TL profit can be made out of 1 TL production cost. On the other hand, it is also calculated that it is necessary to spend 1,84 TL in order to make 1 TL profit.
