Abstract :
In the developing world, both the standards of living and energy demand per capita are increasing. Therefore the main problem is not how to reduce oil use, the main problem is how to meet the increasing energy demand on transportation and other areas of life. Then, energy production from renewable energy sources has brought to the fore and began to rise primarily in the developed countries and all over the world. Recently, one of the growing importance of renewable energy sources is biomass energy. Biofuels produced from biomass energy sources encounters as biodiesel and bioethanol. In parallel the positive developments in alternative energy sources, the interest the use of bioethanol and also increasing and bioethanol is expected to play an important role in the transport sector in the world and our country. Researchs and encouraging elements of development programs for bioethanol can be listed as; the world s oil reserves will be depleted in the near future, to ensure energy security by reducing dependence on oil, reduction of greenhouse gases that lead to global warming, sustainable production, air and water pollution. As a source of bioethanol; sweet sorghum, sugar core, sugar beet, corn, wheat and cellulose cored agricultural products are used in the world. In this study, the importance of bioethanol that is one of the types of biofuels, production in the world and Turkey, what and how it is obtained from, and collection about using were conducted.
