A RESEARCH ON DETERMINATION OF THE OPTIMAL PRODUCTION PLANS IN THE DISTRICT OF DIKBIYIK IN SAMSUN PROVINCE

In this study, data were collected from 45 sample farms, which were determined by stratified random sampling method by considering land size in the district of Dikbıyık in Samsun Province. The data covers 2005-2006 production periods. In this research, socio-economic structures of agricultural enterprises in the district of Dikbıyık were clarified; optimal production designs were determined according to groups, the current situation was compared with the results of planning. In the planning stage, linear programming method was used. According to planning results, an increase of 560.84% in gross margin was determined for the first group. Gross margin increased to 109.73% and 8.85% for the second and third groups, respectively. For the average of all three groups, the gross margin increase calculated was 218.07%. In the optimal plans, livestock capacity increased in all group of enterprises, therefore feed crop production increased, too.
