Title Of Article :
EVALUATION OF SOME COMMON VETCH (Vicia sativa L.) LINES FOR FORAGE YIELD AND QUALİTY IN ÇUKUROVA CONDITIONS
Abstract :
The research was conducted with aim to determine dry matter yield and forage quality of some common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) lines, which can be grown in Cukurova conditions. The research was carried out according to complete randomized block with four replication at the Experimental Field of Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute, during winterly growing seasons of 2006/07 and 2007/08 years. Some traits such as crude protein ratio (CPR), crude protein yield (CPY), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), acid detergent fibre (ADF), dry matter yield (DMY), dry matter intake (DMI), digestibly dry matter yield (DDMY) and relative feed value (RFV) were examined in this experiment,. It was concluded that there were significant differences among the common vetch lines in terms of CPY, DMY and DDMY in the first year, and all of exemined traits in the second year. Bisedes, years were found to be significant in terms of CP, CPY, NDF, ADF, and DMY. As a result of the experiment, 2639, 1526, 2604 lines in the first year, and 2604 line in the second year in term of dry matter intake), digestibly dry matter yield and relative feed value had higher values than that of the the other genotypes.
