Abstract :
Land consolidation has many advantages, such as water use efficiency, parcel consolidation, reducing the costs of irrigation and drainage projects, and providing access to parcels. In this study, Bafra Plain Left Coast consolidation was examined. Irrigation and drainage project in this area was designed without consolidation in 1996. However, before beginning, the project has been revised according to consolidation. Indicators such as irrigation rate, consolidation rate, irrigation and drainage density and cost of expropriation have been compared with consolidated and non-consolidated situation. Irrigation rate of 27% , parcel number of 1315, irrigation density of 23.79 m / ha and drainage density of 24.53 m / ha were determined without consolidation. On the other hand, irrigation rate of 95.84%, parcel number of 616, consolidation rate of % 53, irrigation density of 36.88 m/ha, drainage density of 39.88 m/ha were determined with consolidation. The area to be expropriated for the construction of irrigation and drainage channels was determined to be approximately 115 da without consolidation. Irrigation and drainage works must be accompanied by consolidation projects. Even if irrigation and drainage projects already started without consolidation, these project need to be revised with consolidation.
