Title Of Article :
Effect of leaf pruning on yield and qualiy of organically grown grape tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)
Abstract :
This study was carried out to determine the effects of different pruning types on yield and quality oforganic grown Bandita F1 tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) varieties in greenhouse condition. In the research on the plant green fruit clusters after harvested clusters under 3 leaves (B1); 1 leaves (B2); 2leaves (B3); of all single leaf among clusters (B4) leaving were 4 different pruning practices. Also, control (K) the pruning of old and yellowed leaves application is made. The plant growth in the different pruning types with, the red color formation on tomato fruit and leaf chlorophyll content, were decreased by pruning (P 0.01). The highest leaf chlorophyll content (49.5 CCI) was obtained from the applicationof control. The total soluble solid content (TSSC) as a fruit quality criterion varied between 6.33% and7.53%. It was determined that the fruit firmness varied between 33.02N and 43N. The highest yield (10482 kg da^-1) was determined from B3 application. As a result of this research, leaf pruning applications have a significant effect on yield and quality of organic grown tomatoes (P˂0.05).
