Abstract :
This study was conducted in order to determine the adaptation, yield potential, some agronomical andquality characteristics of some dry bean cultivars (Kantar-05, Elkoca-05, Önceler-98, Göynük-98, Akman-98, Karacaşehir-90, Yakutiye-98 and Aras-98) and lines (KN 69, KN 254, KN 303, KN 338, KN 419, IR 1 and IR 4) under Erzurum ecological conditions. The experiment was arranged in randomizedblock design with three replicates in 2012 and 2013 growing seasons on the experimental field of AtaturkUniversity, Erzurum. All parameters investigated showed significant differences among cultivars andlines. Phenology, yield, disease tolerance and agronomical characteristics of cultivars and linesconsidered together, it was determined that Önceler-98, Karacaşehir-90, KN 69, KN 254, IR 1 and IR 4 were not as suitable as the other cultivars and lines for Erzurum ecological conditions. As a result, it wasdecided that further studies will be conducted in KN 303, KN 419 and KN 338 and these lines will beransferred to region yield trials.
