METATARSOPHALYNGEAL RESURFACING FOR THE TREATMENT OF MODERATE AND SEVERE HALLUX RIGIDUS About 21 Cases and 6 Years Follow-Up
Abstract :
Treatment of advanced stage of hallux rigidus is still controversial in the literature especially nowadays, where active people are less willing to have their joint fused for life. We present here our results of metatatarsophalyngeal (MTP) joint resurfacing, using the HemiCap® implant, in 21 cases with a mean follow-up of 6 years as a new alternative of treatment of grade 3 and 4 hallux rigidus. Results at follow-up are promising with good clinical and radiological outcome.
