Title Of Article :
GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON PRODUCTION FROM CHERRY STONES
Abstract :
In this study, the cherry stones was used as raw material for the active carbon production. Stones were supplied from a plant which manufactures fruit juice. Fruit stones activated using potassium carbonate and subjected to carbonization process. The effectiveness of the produced carbon was tested by removal of the dye from the aqueous solution. Using granular activated carbon, the effect of pH and contact time for removal of dye from the aqueous solution was investigated. In addition, the adsorption system has been shown to adapt to the Langmuir isotherm model.
