A Review of Pesticide Removal with Fenton Processes

Abstract :
From past to present, several studies by using Fenton type processes on agricultural pesticides removal for preventing possible environmental impacts of reaching the pesticides to ground and surface water resources have given as a well rounded inventory. Several studies by using Fenton type processes emphasized the effects of pesticide degradation, mineralization, by-products, concentrations of oxidants and initial pesticide, pH, temperature, reaction time on pesticide removal and reaction kinetics has developed and evaluated. As a result of this work, removal efficiencies of the pesticides by using Fenton type processes were evaluated, advantages and disadvantages of these processes were introduced and it is seen that, the years betwen 2001-2004 studies focused on Electro and Photo-Electro Fenton. In recent years increasing the amount of Classic Fenton, Photo-electro Fenton and Solar Photo-Fenton studies has been observed.
