Investigation of Dynamic Responses of a Wind Turbine under Different Conditions
Abstract :
It is necessary to assess the static and dynamic loads on turbine components when designing the wind turbines. Aerodynamic loads on tower and blades cause fatigue within time. Due to the lifetime of wind turbines are twenty years all possible load cases have to be calculated. In this study a 5MW wind turbine was simulated with HAWC2 simulation software under different load cases and dynamic responses of the turbine were investigated. Different scenarios with turbulence and aerodynamic effects were also investigated. The responses of the wind turbine under different conditions and loads were obtained.
