Prospective Classroom Teachers’ Misconceptions about Natural Hazards
Abstract :
The purpose of the research is to determine prospective classroom teachers’ misconceptions about natural hazards. 164 students attending Giresun University, Education Faculty, Classroom Teaching Program were selected as a sample. A scale which constitutes of 35 items was developed and administered to determine the students’ misconceptions. The results of the study showed that the students possess seven different misconceptions about the natural hazards. Several suggestions have been made for the curriculum and teachers to remove the misconceptions.
