Abstract :
Internet Technologies provide the infrastructure for knowledge sharing and transferring platforms such as chat rooms and videoconferencing which enable individuals to learn through social interaction. Individuals are able to be educated efficiently, interactively, cost effectively and synchronously without leaving their locations through videoconferencing method. Medical education is one of those fields which involve changes and updates. Doctors are supposed to see patients, do research studies, educate others, take lessons and do all of these activities at the same time often struggle with time allocation and concentration problems. Videoconferencing is one of those appropriate technological solutions to be used not only for continuous medical education but also as a support for formal education. This study focuses on medical education especially the pediatric cardiology education through videoconferencing. The researcher investigates the perceptions of medical instructors regarding how much they have satisfied from this educational technology, how much they have adopted it and its advantages. Findings of the study indicate that medical instructors have been satisfied with the instruction given through videoconferencing and rely upon this technology for the purpose of education and hope this method would spread out. The most important advantage of videoconferencing method has been indicated as the comfort of place flexibility and time saving.
