Abstract :
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), according to DSM-IV, is defined with attention deficit, hyperactivity and impulsivity concepts (Häcker Stapf, 2004). It is one of the most seen problems in childhood and adolescence periods (Lauth Naumann, 2009; Nathrath Wölfl, 2006). This problem affects both students’ behavior and success at school in a negative way. Due to this, the need of both teachers and students learning to cope with ADHD is known (Altherr, 2006). Most of the time teachers and parents feel themselves powerless in front of these children’s behavioral problems, so the importance of studies about ADHD increases. Therefore, this study covers basic knowledge about ADHD, behavior characteristics of students with ADHD, extensity of ADHD and accompanying problems, strong aspects of children with ADHD and developmental risks of them. Besides, school based educational programs that could be applied for ADHD treatment is explained.
