Hacettepe University Students’ Perceptions of Getting Psychological Counseling Help And The Units Which Provide The Help

The purpose of this study is to examine the university students’ views on psychological counseling help, their expectations from Psychological Counseling and Guidance services’ physical environments, and their perceptions of getting psychological counseling help. With this purpose, the research group of this study is consisted of 413 Hacettepe University students who are taking courses in 2010-2011 Fall term. In order to get research data, a survey with 23 questions is applied. The frequency analyze is applied to the data collected from the university students by using the survey which has 4 parts. Based on the research’s findings, it is examined that although they need to get psychological counseling help, their proportion of applying for getting this help is low. Also, they prefer the counseling rooms with light colors and less furniture. The findings of this research are discussed as a base for future researches.
