Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine the expectations of student teachers from university supervisor, cooperating teacher, practice school coordinator,practice school, peer, other teachers who work in the practice school, students who go to practice school, teacher training program and stakeholders in teaching practice. The population of the study was comprised of a total of 438 students from Sakarya University Education Faculty and of which 88 students from Classroom Teaching Department, 65 students from Science Teaching Department, 73 students from Elementary Mathematics Teaching Department, 59 students from Social Sciences Teaching Department, 73 students from Turkish Language Teaching Department and 80 students from Computer and Instructional Technology Teaching Department. The students comprising the population had not taken the teaching practice when the instrument was applied.“Students Teachers’ Expectations of Teaching Practice” survey was used as data collection tool. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of this 85 items survey was found to be .94. Percentage and frequency distribution tables were used for analyzing the data and frequency distributions were tested by chi-square test at the .05 meaningfulness level. As a result, a significant difference was found between the expectations of student teachers from cooperating teacher, practice school coordinator,practice school, peer, teacher training program, stakeholders in teaching practice in terms of their department.However, no significant difference was found between the expectations of student teachers from university supervisor, other teachers who work at practice school, students who go to practice school in terms of their department.
