Abstract :
One of the important issues is assessment that educators study strongly. Especially nowadays, it is seen that “assessment for learning” approach is adopted by the educators. The aim of the study is to develop an analytic Rubric for teachers as an assessment instrument and for students as a road map. Triangulation method was selected which include observations, interviews and document analysis. The study was conducted with the participation of 4th year pre-service teachers (N=32), 7th grade (N=28) and 8th grade (N=24) middle school students and experts in the field of teaching technologies (N=1) and science education (N=1). Applications were employed with 4th year pre-service teachers and 8th grade middle school students in their class. Experts’ views were taken to internal consistency and content validity of the rubric. 7th grade students were employed technological design application to calculate reliability score of the developed rubric. As a result of analysis, rubric consist of 10 performance indicators under 3 main performance indicators. Data was coded by researchers and science education domain expert. Inter-rater correlations were determined by using bivariate correlation test. As a result, it is seen that the Pearson correlation coefficient between the ratings of the raters was alternated from 0,83 to 0,97. The result shows that the rubric is useful.
