Abstract :
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of creative drama-based instruction on students’ mathematic self-efficacy and their achievements of the comprehension and application levels in mathematics. The research activities were applied for a total of 20 hours in five weeks at a Middle School in Muğla in the 2012-2013. A total of forty-one students, twenty in the experimental groups and twenty-one in the control groups, participated in the students. Mathematics self-efficacy scale, the comprehension and the application achievement tests were the data collection tools. Data were analyzed with t-test by comparing the average arranged according to pretest-posttest experimental research scores. Results showed that creative drama-based instruction increased students’ achievements much more than the method written on the instructional program at prisms unit at sixth grate mathematics lesson. Moreover, creative drama-based instruction increased students’ self-efficacy towards mathematics.
