Abstract :
In this study timber pillared historical Ahi Elvan Mosque is analyzed in order to assess its structural behavior and seismic vulnerability. For this purpose, a full 3-D finite element analysis is performed in order to obtain a first insight into its structural performance. Finite Element Analysis is the most convenient method to examine the behavior of historic structures. In finite element analysis, rules and sequence of analytical modeling is very important in order to get the actual behavior of the building. Therefore, to create a perfect model, detailed material behavior and element behavior must be studied. Structural analysis of Ahi Elvan Mosque presented useful findings concerning structural interaction between rigid stone masonry walls and the timber framed inner structure.
