Abstract
Main structures in the Islamic architecture are generally composed of different style mosques and complexes of buildings adjacent to mosques. Hence, these structures can be found in every ancient Islamic city. However, over the past years, these structures have had some damages and many historical mosques have been at risk due to static and dynamic effects. Thus, better understanding of their structural behaviors is crucially important in order to determine the protection requirements for these structures. Therefore, this study mainly focuses on the structural behaviors of Kara Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Merzifon, Amasya, Turkey. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate structural behaviors of the domed mosque and to determine the static and dynamic effects. For this purpose, Kara Mustafa Pasha Mosque has been numerically modeled and it has been analyzed by means of static and dynamic analyses methods.
