BAGGAGE DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR AIRPORTS
Abstract :
Airline companies are obliged to follow the processes of their passenger’s baggage with the decision of the international air transport association of IATA. To carry out the baggage follow-up of the companies, the infrastructure of the airports must be appropriate or properly updated. Thus, minimizing the baggage failures is aimed at increasing customer satisfaction. In this study, a system was developed to monitor the status of passenger’s luggage in the baggage waiting areas of the airports. In the passenger s trunk, the identification information is saved to the system by attaching a pre-flight RFID (Radio Frequency identification) tag. Airline personnel after the flight, read the tags in the luggage to the reader system. The credentials received from the baggage are matched to the passenger information in the database and transferred to the screens at the delivery point. In this way, passengers in the area can follow the status of the luggage on the screen. In the developed system, follow-up 13.56 MHz RFID adhesive label is performed. The RC522 RFID reader is used on the Arduino development card to read the RFID tags. As a result, it is aimed that passengers in the system airports receive easy and practical delivery of their luggage
