Abstract :
In recent years, countries have turned towards renewable energy sources (RES) due to environmental and economic factors. When the growth in the energy sector is analyzed, it is seen that the RES has an increasing share in time. In parallel with this rapid increase, many problems have emerged in the integration of RES into the grid. The main reason for these problems is the rapid generation increase or decrease in energy resources. These short-term changes cause disruptive effects on the grid s frequency and power balance. Because conventional grid systems are not designed to operate with a very fast changing power input. There are three different ways to reduce rapid changes in RES. The first is to connect the grid systems together, the second is to store the energy and the third is to make use of the temporal completion between the energy sources. In this study, temporal complementary approach is discussed for Hydroelectric Power Plants (HEPP). In this context temporal complementary between 27 HEPPs that installed in Malatya, Kahramanmaraş and Adiyaman provinces is investigated. Correlation analysis was performed to calculate the direction and size of the complementary. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was seen that there was a temporal complementarity between the generation of some plants.
