Length-Weight and Length-Length Relationships, and Seasonal Conditon Factors of Cyprinus carpio L., 1758 and Tinca tinca (L., 1758) Inhabiting Hirfanlı Dam Lake
Abstract :
In this study, the lenght-weight and length-length relationships, and seasonal condition factors of Cyprinus carpio L., 1758 and Tinca tinca (L., 1758) collected from Hirfanlı Dam Lake between March 2004-August 2005 were examined. Fork lengths and weights ranged between 11,3-45,4 cm and 30-1834 g for C. carpio, and between 13.9-30.0 cm and 38-470 g for T. tinca, respectively. Lenght-weight relationships for all specimens of C. carpio and T. tinca were found as W=0.0218 L2.967 (r2=0.992) and W=0.0102 L3.152 (r2=0.970), respectively. All length-length relationships were highly significant (P 0.001). The seasonal condition factor values varied between 1.6706-2.2744 (mean=1.9732) in C. carpio and between 1.2826-1.966 (mean=1.6472) in T. tinca.
