Abstract
The aim of this paper is two-folded: Firstly to present and review two relevant case-studies of Umayyad bath-houses from Jordan consolidated and restored under the direction of the author, which illustrate different approaches in design and conception according to their respective urban and suburban contexts; Secondly, to analyze their social and political value, elicited from the supposed use given to them, according to their natural environs and socio-cultural contexts, as well as some relevant technical aspects of the way they were put into service and used.
