Abstract :
The study aims to compile the opinions of mathematics educators, teachers, prospective teachers, university students and secondary school students about the proof; their level of proving; the difficulties that they experience in the process of proving; the methods, strategies and approaches that they use in the process of proving; types of proof; the role of proof in mathematics instruction; and some of the researches conducted on the processes related to the proof. In view of the study, it has been observed that the examined researches rather focused on the proving process of students and prospective teachers. However, it is important to know opinions and perceptions of teachers regarding the proof; the methods, strategies and approaches that they use in the process of proving; and their proving skills. Unfortunately, the number of studies conducted in this field is low in our country. For that reason, the researchers, who will conduct studies on this subject in the future, can be recommended to perform studies on the proving levels of teachers; the methods, strategies and approaches that they use in the process of proving; and their perceptions and opinions on this subject.
