Title Of Article :
A Scaling StudyAbout 6.-7.-8.Grades Mathematics Learning Domain
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine the mathematical learning domains identified by Ministy of Education which the students at 6th, 7th, and 8th grades find themselves more succesful at. This study is significant because it focuses on the learning domain of math which students find themselves more successful at. The research study group included 700 students in total studying 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in Ankara, in 2012-2013 academic year. As a data collection tool a “Mathetmatics Learning Domain Self Assesment Form” was prepared and the students were asked to make pairwise comparision between stimuli. The results show that the mathematical learning domain that the students consider themselves as the most successful is numbers; however, mathematical learning domain they find themselves the least successful is algebra.
