Abstract :
Workplace aggression is defined as “efforts by individuals to harm others with whom they work, or have worked, or the organizations in which they are presently, or previously, employed. Work group aggression comprises behaviors such as physical attacks, attack with a weapon, directly blocking work activities, holding person or person’s work, and damage work’s equipments etc. The current study aims to investigate the relation and its power between employee aggression and social aggression and its sub-dimensions. In addition, the effects of sexual, working time and educational differences are explored. Firstly, as expected, a positive relationship is found between employee aggression and social aggression variables and the effects’ power is determined by regression analysis. Finally, the level of aggression is observed quite high among employees as expected, but unexpectedly, it is found that demographic variables as gender, education level and working time makes no statistically meaningful differences on employee aggression. The powerful effect of cultural and social norms and behaviors is supposed to be the main reason.
