Abstract :
French Constitution of 1791, which was the first constitution of France after the French Revolution (1789), and French Constitution of 1793, which was the second one, have original and remarkable contents and forms in terms of constitutional law and political science. This article, dealing with the aforementioned constitutions comparatively, analyzes and evaluates both constitutions according to their general “structure and philosophy”, according to their articles on “legislative and executive powers and the relation between these powers”, and also according to their articles on “judicial power and the constitutional amendment procedure”. These constitutions have been analyzed and evaluated descriptively through their perspective on these issues. Presenting and evaluating how legislative, executive and judicial powers are established and arranged by these constitutions is also instructive for the reader interested in current constitutional issues and debates. Furthermore, analyzing the amendment procedures of these constitutions is also beneficial for evaluating not only political and ideological character of these constitutions, but also current debates on constitutional amendment procedures and principles.
