APPLICATION OF REVENUE MANAGEMENT METHODS TO HOSPITALITY SECTOR OF TURKEY

This study focuses on capacity control methods for hospitality industry by using real data obtained from a major hotel chain in Turkey. Expected Marginal Seat Revenue method which has not been used in previous studies in this area is applied as a modeling technique. It determines booking limits and protection levels for different room types, and these are used for capacity control. In this respect, a capacity allocation algorithm has been developed and a simulation has been performed. As a result, it is observed that method gives results that are very close to real values. In addition a specific level of demand density has been found at which EMSR-b shows best performance.
