Title Of Article :
PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL POSITIONING OF THE HOSPITAL PERSONNEL ACCORDING TO THE CONTINGENCY APPROACH (A PublicHospital Case)
Abstract :
The contingency approach classifies the organizational structure as mechanistic and organic organization structure. These structures are affected most by the technology and strategies organizations apply. The purpose of this study is to measure the perceived organizational positioning of the hospital personnel evaluating their perception of the organizational structure of the hospital with regard to contingency approach. For this purpose, a data collection method aimed at data collection from the literature in the form of a survey with the contingency approach was generated. The reliability of the survey was found to be at 0.83. Using the data collection tool, a survey was developed and was submitted to 200 hospital employees and 140 surveys were found to be suitable for the evaluation. Data obtained from the survey was then evaluated using SPSS 21.0 software and a one-way analysis of variance was conducted using t-test.72% of the participants of the research received no previous education in administrative science. According to the findings of the study, it was shown that personnel’s perceived mechanistic organization (=3,46) is higher than their perceived organic organization (=3,18) in terms of perceived organizational positioning. Nevertheless, a significant difference was found between male and female participants with regard to the perceived mechanistic organization (p 0,05). In addition, perceived mechanistic organization was significantly different depending on the title of the participant (p 0,05). There were no significant differences between the independent variables in terms of perceived organic organization.
