Abstract :
One of the main objectives of the labour working in organizations is to receive the benefits promised in return of their job performance. Performance based reward system is one of the common tools to provide benefits to the employees based on their job performance. Performance based reward system basicly focuses on moving the efficiency and productivity to upper levels in organizations. Besides, an increase in performance-related wage enables a rise in living standards and an increase in work motviation of the employees. But high effort to earn high salaries may also be a source of stress for the workers. This quantitative research aimed to find out the difference creation level of performance based renumeration on salary-driven stress among employees working in health organizations in Konya in Turkey. Data analaysed by using 368 valid responses. Results of the data analysis revealed that “type of health organization”, “type of job”, “having a systematic job performance appraisal prosedure”, and “type of performance appraisal” factor components have statistically significant differences on salary-driven stress. Performance-based pricing is perceived as a right to be earned as a part of the base wage by employees.
