Abstract :
Nowadays X and Y generations work together. Analysis of the behaviors of different generations in organizations is seen as important for organizations to be more effectively managed. The behavior that individuals show in their organizations is crucial to the success of the organization. In this context, organizational silence is regarded as an obstacle factor to the development of organizations. The present study examines the organizational silence behavior of X and Y generations of 216 participants working in the public and private sectors. Findings show that employees of the X and Y generations do not - stay silent in their organizations and that there is no statistical difference between the generations in terms of organizational silence and its sub-dimensions.. Likewise, there is no statistical significance difference in gender and marital status of the sample. On the other hand, the level of organizational silence in the public sector workers was higher than that of the private sector workers. High self-confidence and competitive structures of private sector employees and the working conditions of the public sector can be shown as the possible reason for this difference. Based on the finding that differences among generations do not take place adequately in the literature, it is evaluated as a benefit the behaviors of individuals in organizations in the context of X, Y and Z generation which will soon join the working life.
