Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine which factors the group A travel agency managers take into consideration in the period of evaluating the performance of their organizations and to compare the factors existing in the performance evaluation models in the literature with the determined ones. The space of the study involves the A group travel agencies which have a turnover of $1000000. Since the space is of attainable size, the whole space was used as the sampling method. To collect data for the study, the survey technique was used. Having studied the literature, a survey form which consists of two parts was prepared. While the first part includes the statements of the managers related to the performance evaluation implementations in the travel agencies, the demographic questions are involved in the second part. The data obtained was analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques such as percentages and frequencies as well as explorative statistical techniques such as factor analysis. The findings obtained demonstrate that the travel agencies involved in the study consider the customer satisfaction, the employees and the environmental and financial factors during the performance evaluation. Compared with the existing performance models, the factors considered by the travel agencies have some deficiencies as they do not have training and development and innovative factors.
