Abstract :
In this study, it is to measure the import dependency of sectors in Turkey by using The Input-Output analysis. The study covers Input- Output Table compiled by Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) for the year of 2002. In respect of empirical findings, sectors with strong backward linkages are “extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas; service activities incidental to oil and gas extraction excluding surveying”, “manufacture of office machinery and computers”, “forestry, logging and related service activities”. The sectors owning the highest effects of forward linkages are also “manufacture of chemicals and chemical products”, “manufacture of basic metals”, “manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c”.
