Abstract :
The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of learned resourcefulness, tenure and marital status of teachers on their emotional exhaustion levels. The research was conducted on 350 teachers working at Yalova, and as a means of measuring, Rosenbaum Learned Resourcefulness Measure, and Maslach’s Burnout Scale’s Emotional Exhaustion sub-scale have been used. According to the results, learned resourcefulness affects teachers’ emotional exhaustion levels. Besides, when the seniority of teachers rise, also emotional exhaustion levels increase. Finally, according to the study results a significance relationship was not found between teachers’ marital status and emotional exhaustion. At this study, the effect of teachers’ learned resourcefulness levels to their emotional exhaustion levels was considered in the context of “Conservation of Resources Theory”, and in this direction empirical support has been provided to the subject.
