Abstract :
Air transport has a very important position in today s social and commercial life needs new investments and expansions in line with continuous increasing in expectations and demand. With this need, airport management which is an important element of air transport come to the fore. Therefore, effective management of the airports is very important for efficient use of resources and the provision for the investments. In this point, the main objective of this study is to determine the efficiency change of the airports were operated by DHMİ for the 2007-2011 period. For this, it was applied the Malmquist-Total Factor Productivity (TFP) Index method used frequently in the literature. Thus, the efficiency change of the airports in the period and the sources of these changes have been determined. Accordingly, the total factor productivity in the period showed an increase on average 11.8% and this increase was largely due to technological development.
