STUDENT AFFAIRS INFORMATION SYSTEM SOFTWARE SELECTION USING ANALYTIC NETWORK PROCESS APPROACH AND TOPSIS METHOD
Abstract :
In our country, 166 universities serve their students and academicians through various knowledge system softwares. While well-established universities produce the knowledge system softwares that they need by themselves, especially the universities newly founded and not having sufficient base mostly buy these softwares from supplier firms. The chosen knowledge system softwares will affect the service quality significantly that the universities will provide to their students and academicians. Therefore, it is required to make a detailed study in determining the criteria in selection and selection method. Although one of the most important knowledge system softwares that the universities use is student affairs, nearly half of the universities have stated in a study that they are not satisfied with the software products they use and consider changing them because of various reasons. In this study, by establishing the criteria and their severities that the universities considering to change student affairs knowledge system softwares take into account in the selection of software, 14 software products being sold in the market have been evaluated according to these criteria. The severities of the determined criteria have been calculated through Analytic Network Process approach and the sequence of meeting the requirement of current 14 alternatives according to these criteria has been made through TOPSIS method.
