Abstract :
The Theory of Constraints is an administrative mentality which allows to detect the problems occurring during the business process and to solve the detected problems for the businesses to reach their aims. This mentality can be applied to the fields of business such as production, marketing, administration, research and development etc. The Theory of Constraints enables development by focusing on the entire system. By this means, the entire system is strengthened by detecting the weakest link during the business processes. The Theory of Constraints is observed during both production and service businesses. Nowadays, it is an administrative system which can be applied to hospitals with service business, too. Especially, with the changes recently made in the service business field in our country, the quality of medical service has increased. That s why, running the business process without any problems has gained importance in terms of hospital businesses as well. In this study, by focusing on the Theory of Constraints, practicality of this administrative mentality in terms of hospital businesses is explained through a public hospital case.
