Abstract :
Emergency services are the hospital units that deal with suddenly appearing illnesses, accidents or injuries and they generally treat the life-threatening cases. In these services it is vital to intervene quickly and effectively, so it can be maintained that emergency service doctors who must decide immediately and correctly during the diagnosis have a heavy mental workload as well as physical workload. Especially in situations where the doctor/patient ratio is small, the doctors perceive more mental workload and this affects their performance. In this study, the mental workload of emergency service doctors is determined by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration–Raw Task Load Index (NASA-RTLX) method. Application is conducted for emergency services of three hospitals any the data is analyzed by means of frequency distribution analyses, t tests and ANOVA obtained by SPSS 23.0.
