Abstract :
The aim of this study is to assess the role of the occupational commitment and employee oriented emotional labor display in the context of the effect of display of job oriented emotional labor which is expected from employees on emotional burnout. Data related to study were collected by applying the questionnaire to 267 nurses who work in public hospitals in Erzurum province. The model which created to examine the relationships between variables and alternative model were tested with structural equation modeling. Analysis results showed that the model which suggests that the occupational commitment has mediating role in the relationship between necessity of not showing negative emotions which is a dimension of job-oriented display of emotional labor, and emotional burnout provides the best fit. In the study, unlike the previous researches dealing with the relationship between emotional labor and emotional burnout the role of occupational commitment is emphasized in this relationship and the results obtained are discussed in the relevant literature.
