DETERMINANTS OF FEMALE LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION: EVIDENCE FROM TURKEY
شماره ركورد

Abstract
Only one-quarter of Turkish women participate in the labor force, one of the lowest rates in the world. This paper looks at the relationship between female labor force participation and economic, demographic, educational and religious factors. The main finding is that Turkey actually has more women working outside of their homes than would have been expected given Turkey’s circumstances. Religion seems to be less associated with low female labor force participation in Turkey than in other countries with large Muslim populations.
