Abstract :
This study investigates the relationships between peer pressure, self-esteem and alcohol use of high school students in Tuzla, Istanbul. In this study the scales of peer pressure and self-esteem were used for eleven grade students (n=129). The ratio of girls is 31% and the ratio of boys is 69%. According to the findings of the research, as the degree of peer pressure increases, the degree of self-esteem decreases. The ratio of students using alcohol is 64% and none-user is 36%. The students using alcohol have higher degree of peer pressure and lower degree of self-esteem.
