Abstract :
The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between language learning strategiesand self-efficacy in English of the 9th grade students in Anatolian High Schools. The study wasconducted on a sample of 242 students studying in the 9th grade of Anatolian High School ofAfyonkarahisar. The Strategy Inventory of Language Learning (SILL), developed by Oxford(1990) and adapted into Turkish by Cesur and Fer (2007), and Self- efficacy Scale for English,developed by Hancı Yanar and Bümen (2012) were used as data collection tools. This quantitativestudy was designed with comparative correlational survey design.Both the reliability coefficientsof The Strategy Inventory of Language Learning Scale and Self Efficacy Scale For English are .94.To evaluate the gathered data t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation were used. According tothe finding, there is a statistically significant difference between language learning strategies andthe self-efficacy beliefs of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of English or betweenlanguage learning strategies and gender variables. In addition, there is statistically significant andpositive correlation between the language learning strategy and the self-efficacy belief of English(r= .823).
