Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate primary (classroom) teachers’ perceptions on curriculum development efficacy with respect to gender, occupational experience, educational level and the settlement place of school variables. The study was carried out in the centre of Nigde province from 6 public primary schools. Primary teachers (n=148) participated in the study. The “survey method” was adopted in the research. In accordance with the purpose of the study, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t test, one-way variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal Wallis-H tests were employed in the study in order to examine the data obtained in terms of some variables. “The Curriculum Development Efficacy Scale” (Duman, 2006) was used in order to collect data for the study. For the statistical analyses SPSS 17.0 was used. According to findings of the study, it was seen that primary teachers participated in the study had moderate level of efficacy in curriculum development process. It was also found out that primary teachers’ perceptions on curriculum development efficacy statistically differed in relation to gender, occupational seniority and educational level variables. However, it was found that teachers’ perceptions on curriculum development efficacy did not differ significantly in relation to the settlement place of school variable in the study
