Abstract :
STEM education, considered one of the greatest educational movements of recent years, is an approach that aims to train students in a holistic in way in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. The purpose of study is to present a general framework for STEM education by using meta-synthesis. The 38 studies published between the years of 2010-2017 were examined in the study. The findings obtained through the steps involved in the meta-synthesis research method and present under the specified themes. Each study was examined within the context of the method, data collection tools, sampling groups. The key expressions and concepts related to the theme are examined; it has been found that STEM education has positive effects on academic achievement, scientific process skills and career awareness. In addition, gender factor has on effect on perception and attitudes towards STEM. At the end of the research, in light of the literature in our country and across the world, some suggestions are presented for future research upon STEM education.
