Abstract :
Death is an inseparable part of existence. Death is an inescapable phenomenon that each human being confronts whether or not they like. There have been various definitions of death along with the history of thinking. Death is defined as a living organism’s loss of ability to renew itself. According to recognition; death is defined as the irreversible cessation of the vital functions of respiration, circulation, and pulsation. Terminal phase is one of the critical life phases for the dying patients. Patients with terminally ill suffer from various physically symptoms and decline physically function. Also, psychological symptoms are observed such as denial, anger, bargain, depression and acceptance in these patients. In these stage, all of terminal phase patients not experienced in the same manner, this law phases can experienced by patients and relatives in a complex sequence. Therefore the patient and family need proper support and counseling from the very beginning. If the nurses understand the dying patients and their families’ needs and develop and maintain helping skills, between patient and family relationship become stable, efforts to remove problem can be increased Death, death fear, grief process and nursing care of dying patients were summarized in the article.
