Abstract :

Objective: This descriptive study was carried out with the purpose of examining the publications, published in a nursing journal as a retrospective and cross-sectional research. Methods: The population and the sample of the study was consisted of all publications published in a nursing journal since beginning the publish. The data were collected via “data collection form” prepared by the researchers. The data were collected between the date 2 May 2011 and 30 June 2011. Research was carried out in the institution in which the journal is published. Written consent was obtained from institution which the study implemented and ethical consent was obtained from ethical committee in the institution. Numerical, percentage and the average distribution was given. Mann-Whitney U test and Pearson’s Correlation coefficient was used in analysis the data. Results: Review articles were published in a smaller number after being refereed journal. It has been found and decreasing in the number of in foreign books, and reports used, but was found an increasing in the count of the newspaper / internet and dissertations / projects used as the source, after being peer-reviewed articles in journals published. In progressed years has been found to increase the number of total resources used. Conclusion: The nursing journals which are examined have been led to an scientific important unit of information in the field of nursing with pressing a 9119 a page by special issue in 26-year period including the special issue.
