  • Abstract
    Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening health problem that requires immediate management andcan occur in every individual. It is more frequently seen in childhood and adolescence withstatements of anaphylaxis. Adequate and reliable data sources related to the prevalence ofanaphylaxis is limited both in Turkey and worldwide. Nutrients, drugs and insect bites are the mostcommon causes of anaphylaxis. The main objective in management of anaphylaxis is to protect thelife by rapid and accurate reaction. Administration of adrenalin at first is essential in theintervention. Subsequent to this application it is important to administrate other drugs and theongoing treatment properly. Emotional support for patient and the family, and briefing about everyintervention are considerable during the process. Complications and deaths can be prevented by determining individuals under risk by knowing the causes of anaphylaxis, early diagnosis of thecase and proper interventions practiced by professional healthcare providers. Management ofanaphylaxis is not only a professional duty but also a legal responsibility of nurses as a crucialmember of the healthcare team.
