Abstract :
Operating room fires are rare, however it may cause serious complications during surgical procedures. Some of the negative results that may have occured in operating room fires are, large or little burns, inhalation injuries, infections, deterioration in shape and death. The guide of Practice Advisory For The Prevention and Management of Fires in Operating Rooms was published by The American Society of Anesthesiologists in 2008. The recommendations on prevention of operating rooms from fire and their management, such as, education, fire drill in operating rooms, preparation, prevention of operating room fires and management of fires in operating rooms, are discussed and the recommendations for the implementation are shared. Aim of this article shared accordance with the guide. It is vital in prevention of fires in operating rooms that to make the required provision against fire risks and to ensure the effective releasing plans.
